New Merch Launch: The Summer Hoodie I Designed Myself

by | May 19, 2025 | News | 1 comment

I’m so excited to share something I’ve been working on behind the scenes for a long time — my very own Summer Hoodie is now available in the shop! 🎉

This isn’t just a new piece of merch. It’s something I poured a lot of time, effort, and creativity into, and it feels amazing to finally bring it to life. I designed it from scratch, hand-drew the patterns myself, and spent weeks testing different styles, layouts, and color combinations to find something that truly felt right — something that felt like me, and maybe, something that feels like you, too.

🖌️ Why This Design Matters to Me?

The swirling, bold design on the hoodie started as a sketch in one of my notebooks. I’ve always been drawn to patterns that feel alive — full of movement, rhythm, and natural flow — and that’s exactly what I wanted to capture here: something that breathes energy even when it’s still.

One of the biggest inspirations for this design was Khokhloma, a traditional Slavic art style that I’ve learned and admired for years.

What I love about Khokhloma is how it blends elegance with boldness. It’s intricate but not delicate. It tells a story of nature, tradition, and craft — all things I deeply resonate with. I wanted to channel that same spirit into this hoodie: something eye-catching, rooted in heritage, and modernized in a way that feels wearable and personal.

While I didn’t stick strictly to the traditional palette, the influence of Khokhloma is woven into the curves, symmetry, and flow of the design. It’s my own twist on something timeless — a blend of cultural appreciation, personal style, and creative freedom.

This is more than just apparel — it’s wearable art.

🎨 Quick Facts: What is Khokhloma?

  • Origin: Developed in 17th-century Russia, especially in the Volga region
  • Traditional Uses: Wooden kitchenware like spoons, plates, bowls, and furniture
  • Signature Colors: Gold, red, black, and green
  • Common Motifs: Flowers, berries, leaves, vines, and birds
  • Fun Fact: The “gold” look is traditionally achieved without using actual gold — it’s painted and then lacquered to create the shimmering effect
  • Symbolism: Khokhloma often celebrates nature, abundance, and folk heritage, making it both decorative and meaningful

♻️ Lightweight, Comfortable, and Eco-Friendly

Since it’s a summer hoodie, I knew it needed to be lighter than your typical fleece-lined hoodie. This one is thin, breathable, and ideal for warm days or cool evenings. And even better? It’s made from recycled materials, because I believe in creating with intention — not just in the design, but in how it’s made.

🎨 Two Colors to Match Your Vibe

I wanted this hoodie to suit different moods, so it comes in two colors:
❤️ A bold, fiery Red for when you’re feeling powerful and vibrant
💙 A calm, breezy Light Blue for a more relaxed, airy look

Both versions carry the same hand-drawn design and the same quality — it’s just about how you want to express yourself.

🕒 Only Available Until the End of Summer

This hoodie will be available until the end of summer, so if it speaks to you, now’s the time to grab one. It won’t be sticking around forever, but while it’s here, I hope it brings a little comfort, color, and creativity to your wardrobe.

Thank you for being here, supporting my work, and letting me share something that started as a sketch and turned into something real. I can’t wait to see you wearing it.

With love and creativity,
— Aramnida.
